I'm sitting in a restaurant at 4am (in Ironton) listening to someone ranting about the "stillers." I'm thinking, "Ben has a brother, what?" but no. They are, in fact, talking about the Steelers. She is now talking about her dead brother to a complete stranger of a waitress. What the hell happened to this place? Was it always this bad? What's that you say crazy redneck lady? You say that your grandparents owned a local bar where you grew up? I guess that sort of atmosphere combined with, I'm going to assume, at least 53 coats of ill-applied lead based paint probably has something to do with this conversation.

So. Hi, friendlist. It has been awhile. Lemme buy you a drank.

- I'm getting married in 2 weeks. Yea. Fucking married.

- I start my new job at The Supplies Guys on monday morning. Totally stoked.

- Obama rocks my socks. For real, I have a boner for this president.

- I got my diploma from OU yesterday. It is mucho pretty. 2 more hours and I can get another one just like it. How will I do that, you ask? Good question.

- This journal needs some new material. We'll see how long I can hold out this time around.

Things are happening quite fast now. The good thing is that these things I've listed are all positive. It's still...hectic, though. I feel like I've been pretty much hanging out doing nothing physically for about a month mostly because that's exactly what I've been doing. My mind, however, has not enjoyed the vacation. This is what I'm to get used to, I have decided. And I wouldn't opt to go back to abusing my body like I did my last quarter at college. Never again. That was flat dangerous. It was making me go crazy. Literally.

I'm really glad I have Maggie now. I have no regrets when it comes to school or anything. I really enjoyed living with Jess, Mimi, Blase, and sometimes Andrew. It was one of the most defining times I had at OU. I miss them all the time.

Well, to wrap this up, I'll say that it's been awhile. So, to my LJ friends and even my friends that will read this via my LJ friends, I'm really happy. And I really, truly hope that you are too. Thank you, and goodnight.

Mark the day in your memory! This is the first time I've ever posted in live while not avoiding work. Mostly this is possible because the quarter is over for me. Well, hello there senior year of college! You've been waiting to pwn my ass, you say? You want to keep me as long as possible, you say? *sigh*

So I'll be arriving in Ironton tomorrow evening and probably heading straight for my grandma's pool. I've noticed I'm getting a little larger around the midsection, so I need to remedy that with some non-WoW exercise. Also, Mom and Les will be heading out to some country music thing in Nashville for about a week, so it'll be my unfortunate privilege to keep tabs on Steven. For those of you who don't know my brother, he's the only 17(nearly 18) year old that still should probably have a babysitter. No joke. So, what does this mean for me? I have to be in by 12 every night to make sure he hasn't gone and gotten a girl pregnant, killed someone, burned down the house, or both the last ones as a result of the first. What will I be doing until 12, you say? I'm glad you asked! I will probably be 1 of 3 places. Work, Jessica's house, or sitting outside my high school biology teacher's house leeching her open wireless to play WoW. Some of you kids were there, you know what I'm talking about.

On a not so happy note, this marks the day that Maggie goes afk(away for kamp?) for 2 months. I hate these. 5 years we've been doing this and I still can't get the hang of it. We have our different ways of handling the summer, she tries to completely remove me from her mind so it doesn't get in the way of her job, and I become a whimpering, oversensitive woman. Never fails. She is coming home for her birthday saturday, and her parents and I are going to Red Lobster to get her druuuuunk. Now, some of you have never seen drunk Maggie. I assure you, it is hilarious, so to get her in front of her parents drunk should be nothing but fun. Moving on..

I've yet to put on my Ironton game face on. This involves A) Preparing to run into people I went to high school with that I NEVER wanted to talk to again. B) Wanting to kill my family in a secretive/not secretive fashion(haven't decided yet) and C) Dumbing down my intelligence about 50 points so that I can blend in. D) Becoming fully nocturnal, which I'm absolutely fine with. Anyway, this turned into a HUGE post, which wasn't my original plan, but, oh well.

Oh, on a WoW-related side note, Jess led a raid to down Aran tonight and it was amazing! We really meshed well and were completely kicking ass. Then Mordwit took over and we couldn't down Prince. I think I work better under Jess' command; I'm more relaxed and I'm more confident in my ability to contribute to the group. My gear really sucks (I'm still wearing my ret helmet), but I think I make up for it in my ability to think fast. I really noticed a difference in my style once Mord came in. Jessica for GM imo ^_^ . Andy's back to playing too. All I have to say about that is.... One of us, one of us...again. My question is, why do you all have to play warlocks?! How about a priest, or a rogue , or something that isn't a lock. Oh well, more healing jobs for me I guess.

Well, I got work in about 4 hours, so I'm gonna take a slight nap. Goodnight friends, I love you all!

Finals. finals. FINALS!

I have one in about 4 hours, this should be fun. My capstone class, which I'm also retaking because I haven't learned anything in it all quarter. The prof is so scatter-brained it's a wonder he knows which classroom to come into. One of those deals where he can "teach" you something but the homework and tests are written like a chinese student trying to pick up pig latin. You know the ones. Anyway, this is a retake for other reasons as well. Besides not retaining anything, he only passes the top 40%. Yes, they can do this, and yes, people have tried to fight it to no end. It's easier to just smile, bend over, and ask if they'd like you to wax their car afterwards. Also, I'm already going to fail a class because I dropped it, but not really. I had to keep it on my schedule to maintain fulltime status, so it will be and incomplete fail. Not really a big deal since I am signed up for it next quarter anyway. This will be amusing. I'll probably even get on academic probation only to have my gpa skyrocket when my new grades cover up the failures. I might even be able to come up with some excuse to get a scholarship for improvement or some lame bs excuse. Anyway, my 3rd class was absolutely amazing and if I could drop out of school and become this professor's apprentice, I would in a heartbeat. He knows just about anything you'd want ot know about computer anything. He's also my academic advisor which is a HUGE advantage. Sadly, he only teaches one more class that I need. Maybe I'll write a letter to the dean saying he is awesome. This, of course, will have to happen AFTER I come back from the other side of the gpa curve. I'll get more cred that way. Yea, I said cred, big deal, wanna fight about it?

Soo, yea, it's late and I have a final I should be studying for but I'm really just going to write down questions to study for when I take this class in the fall. At least it was partially useful. By the way, I'm nowhere near the top 40%, that's lulz. We'll call this final "research". Oh, almost forgot, go here and watch this, it made me lol fir serious.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N560NCIsaS8

1) The RIAA should be disbanded and have their operation given over to proper authorities. Yes, issuing lawsuits is not exactly vigilante justice, but they're pushing it. This story caught my attention. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070513/ap_on_hi_te/music_pirates;_ylt=Ag8sNDJZ5G7rXOModoeAWDvMWM0F

This is nothing new, but think about why the RIAA is doing this. By the comments made like this one "It is important to send the message that this is illegal, you can be caught, and there are consequences..." I'm starting to think they are just throwing the US justice system at people as a "Hah, we're bigger than you" strategy. Fucking cockmonglers, the lot of them.

2) Philosophy is a good thing.

3) I have a feeling that if I watch Heroes tonight, it's just going to make me angry. My family is only moderately annoying, I got decent grades, and I'm sleeeeeeeping again. That last one is important. I haven't slept this much in a very long while. What else?

Maggie came back today from regionals. She thinks she did terrible, and I keep trying to remind her that she is injured and still kicked 3 riders' ass. She's so critical of herself, I wish she'd just take a compliment like I do, straight to her head. Anyway, it was great to she her, haven't since SB started. LOL @ spring though. Everyone keeps asking if I'm going to pop the question soon. I want to, just not financially secure enough to do it. Although, I DO want her off the market; no more guys hitting on her in the dining hall. She just flashes the rock, and that's that. I don't know what I'm going to do, honestly. But I am a man of tradition, and her father will know when I intend to do it before anyone will.

***WoW talk starts here***
I got into Verge today, which is a good raiding guild on Balnazzar. I'm only 49, but I have a lot of people that want me in Karazhan. I'm okay with this. Although, I want to kinda hang back too, to see if Jess and Steph are going to get any Kara time. Some bullshittery(2 t's?) went down today and basically, my friends keep getting kicked out of Kara runs. Even though, you can expect that kind of thing in a serious raiding guild, they keep getting replaced by lower members in the guild, which is not cool. We'll see if I get to stick around in this guild long, I really want to. I like the people, just not the system. It's complicated, but I know I want to end up wherever Jess and Steph and now, Cyren, go. She's pretty nifty, and we've been becoming friends. I sometimes think that I know the only girls on the server. LOL @ girls that play WoW. You all will eventually befriend me.

    <lj:music>GITS - All of it</lj:music>

After reading about the work that Dr. Kevin Warwick has been doing in recent years for the billionth time, I'm still so giddy about it. It's all about how he implanted himself with a computer chip to control a robotic arm and some other things, like thermostats in rooms he enters and crazy shit. He calls himself the world's first cyborg. I'm absolutely infatuated with the idea. I want to be next, give me a chip. On second thought, it has been said that I could hack the pentagon with a TI-83, so maybe this would be a bad move on humanity's part. A boy can dream, right?

Anyway, today was full of adventure. I got up and started studying for a final at about 10:30ish and at around noon, Scott and Abbie show up at the apartment to make macaroni and hotdogs. I was a little wtf at first, but soon got over it. Went to my test, spilled a lil astroglide on my new shoes, but it was tolerable. Then I get the call that Maggie had taken to the ground much more than she had taken to her horse. I flipped out, naturally. This has happened before, but I don't she ever hit this hard before. So after some x-rays, the doctor sent her home with some nasty cuts, a lot of bruising, and a script for vicodin. Let me be the first to say, though....lol @ Maggie on vicodin. She got all giggly. It was great. After Mr. Rath showed up, we got her back to the apartment and propped her up with some fresh drugs and some food. I left to go study, but, to this minute, I haven't done much of it. I still have a program to finish this week also. I think I'm fighting a losing one here, kids. I can't wait until I can put these damned classes behind me and move on. Next quarter won't be that much better, but it will, at least, have some sun. I need sun. I miss the sun. Anyway, I'm out to do some more studying. See you, space cowboy!

It was taken from the pally forums by a guy named Bruug talking about why Blizzard limits paladin burst damage or something to that effect:

"I, personally, think there is a secret particle accellerator in-game where, if one chops a paladin into tiny bits, then spins the resulting cells up to six times the speed of sound, the particles can two-shot a mage if fired directly at his face from a short distance. It's mostly due to the remaining fragments of plate armor mixed up in the mess."

It made me giggle. Mostly because I'm sitting in physics right now. I /salute you, sir.

I have a engineering midterm tomorrow morning. Let's think about this, though, shall we? We have 2 weeks of the quarter left, and we get a midterm? We just had one in this class 3 weeks ago, not to mention a final in 2 more weeks. This confuses and infuriates me. Mostly this is a big deal because I haven't been paying attention in this class since the last exam. I r fooked.

Other than that, everything is going surprisingly well. I'm poor, but no big deal, that's why I have a meal plan. Maggie and I are getting along as always, I finished the first phase of my Othello project, and I turn 21 in about 6 weeks. Fun fun.

Anyway, onward to the anal violation that is the PIC16F877 microcontroller. I know you all envy the alone time we have together. You must try to get over it. I'm a one-chip kind of woman. Off to configure its PortA pins for input so I can have my way with it. May your pools never close!

So we may get a snow day tomorrow as a result of a bunch of ice. This might be interesting...

My CS group finished our project, but we just got the project that we will be doing the rest of the quarter. We have to beat our professor at our own version of the game Othello. We have to work alone too =( . I'm not sure about this one. I really don't even know how to play Othello...which might be a good thing since I have to teach a computer to play it expertly. I'm going to beat the shit outta my prof on this one....I also plan to make my game gloat the entire way through so I can piss him off. Hehe, surprisingly optimistic now >=)

Last night was the best night of WoW I've had in a looooong time. I love just running around and playing a game with friends. Last night's events? Jess, Steph, and I ran around the new blood elf starting area as our paladins and completely just had fun. Real fun. In WoW. Without raiding.

It started out harmless, we were doing quests, then we decided we were the mighty morphin pally rangers. Afterward, I made a senseless comment about the seal of the crusader ability looking like a penis. THe floodgates opened. This eventually led to me getting raped by Steph's sotc and mocing a warlock by spamming it in formation. It was glorious. We really bonded.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, I had a bad week last week, and this weekend was just what I needed to settle down. I didn't have to drink, I didn't have to smoke, and I didn't have to do anything strenuous. I just hung out at Maggie's and did homework when I felt like it. It was very relaxing. The snow only added to the atmosphere. It felt great.

Anyway, class has started and so I have to get raped by an astrophysics quiz. Bye, kids.

Ugh, I like my classes for a change but the workload is terrible. I wish I could have one of those majors where the homework is something like "Read this article" or "Hey, memorize like a bajillion terms about plants or something." That would be great.
SO, I'm sitting here watching my professor prance around talking about the Roppocity(that's for you, Andy) of sentinel loops. Srsly. This guy is fruity. But he does have a daughter, so at some point in his life, he was at least halfway normal enough for someone to fuck him. I love trying to figure my professor's lives. It's creepy and fun.

Anywho, not much going on in the fabulous life of me. I transferred a WoW character awhile back and now I can't get Brogan on for more than a few minutes. Wondering if this was a good move. Oh, well, it's just a game.

Anyway, class ending. I'm out. Peace
